Aloha, I mean, Hola, no, what I really mean is Konichiwa! I have been doing some serious rest and relaxation in one of the busiest cities in the world for the last couple of weeks and it has been auh-mazing.
In a funny way, Japan was everything I expected it to be but at the same time, not as exaggerated and make believe as I had in my head to what, you know, the robot dogs that cleans your house, the hover cars, the high tech hologram phones, right down to the futon beds and sliding doors, maybe I was in the wrong places but even so, what I did get to see was to say the least, magical.
I got to see the new, the old, the remains of the past and the prospects of the future, I caught up with friends and mentors, met some of the kindest people and also saw the craziest of crazies. I also got to learn that our train system here in Melbourne is the worst thing I’ve ever had to deal with since using Japan’s railway system, I’ve definitely come back jaded.
I’m back in Melbourne and while it’s good to be home with a working cell phone, I miss that sense of being almost totally detached from a life that’s filled with routine and mediocre chores and being able to walk around and actually being able to take a minute to breathe and take in your environments, but maybe that’s what made it all the more, knowing it wouldn’t last forever.
I’m also here to apologies in advance for my double, tripple or even qaud dripple postings of the same photos from my trip, especially if you follow facebook, instagram whatever, sorry to spam, but hey, at least it’s super pretty? Maybe after all the photos, you’ll yourself feel like you’ve just been Japan yourself. :)
I’ve always loved summer, but as I’m getting older (and more bitter) I have learnt the hard way over sweating in the wrong attire because of sudden heated tempretures throughout the day, my distaste for one teaspoon cut off shorts, embarrassment over bearing my pasty white complexion and just generally not being to enjoy summer like I used to when I was younger. I can already see the bitterness through the last 20 words, I’m not even old! I have grown to hate summer!
For the first time in my life, I welcome dwindling tempretures, wet rain and cloudy days, but never will I ever welcome windy days, the thought of my hair flying eveywhere causing me to look like the girl from the grudge horrifies me.

I was so happy with how this came out, expired film is so tricky to use, I always end up with a couple of duds before I get a nice one like this!
My mum has a lot of time on her hands these days so she’s been gardening a lot, and this was the first tomato she successfully harvested!

Kitchen workshop was a little underwhelming, considering it replaced my beloved sante bar, the desserts were visually appealing but not in the least mouth watering. :(
Positives were the unlimited supply of pork crackling which I drowned myself in and the swan ice sculpture.

Slamming sugar cane juices and all kinds of food at Footscrazy chinese new year festival. Attempted to go early to avoid the crazy crazies only to have a bunch of guys somehow lay a whole buch of fire crackers in the middle of the crowd and setting it off scaring the bajeevies out of me, hope karma gets you guys!. :(
